Worldbuilding Guide: Introducing the Blog

Welcome home. This blog is designed for anyone who is interested in worldbuilding. This blog is for those who wish to fully give into worldbuilders’ disease. We will craft strange new worlds, intricate political systems, weird aliens, dark caverns full of lore, and anything else we need to go in our sci-fi and fantasy worlds.

Whether you’ve stumbled upon my blog while Googling something as general as “how to get started worldbuilding,” or you’ve unwisely Googled something that will get you on a watchlist like “would a barbarian warlord from a culture of fishmen eat human hearts before or after ravishing their women?” rest assured, you’ve come to the right place.

A Worldbuilding Blog

Here, I commit to posting at least once a week about a different worldbuilding topic. Posts will range from very broad ideas to very specific ones. One of the coolest things about worldbuilding is that there are infinite approaches to it. Because of the nature of worldbuilding, the way you design your imaginary setting will be unique to you. In this blog you will find ideas, springboards to new thoughts, and deep-dives into tiny questions that will prompt other questions that will assist you in deepening your setting and making it more real and more alive.

The Worldbuilder

As an introduction to who I am, you can head over to my website at natebattalion.com. In brief, I’ve been worldbuilding since my early teens for fun and in order to GM tabletop roleplaying games. Now, I have a few short stories out there with a novel manuscript nearly complete.

I am 100% open to discussing ideas and talking about things you want to hear about, so if you have a worldbuilding question, feel free to shoot me an email or comment your idea!

The Worldbuilders

If you’re an author, game designer, dungeon master, map maker, hobbyist, and or just interested in the art and passion of crafting imaginary worlds for our minds to play in, this blog is for you. Thanks for joining, have fun, and get started here.

See you next week,

Nate
